About the Role

Join North Western BreastScreen at The Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Royal Park Campus and play an important role in supporting breast screening and early detection across Melbourne and rural Victoria.

A Grade 2 Radiographer is required to undertake screening mammograms at Parkville, Essendon and Footscray. This role also works in assessment clinic alongside experienced radiologists, performing further breast imaging and biopsy procedures.

Additional responsibilities include clinical teaching and quality assurance activities in compliance with BreastScreen Australia Accreditation standards. A key member of a multidisciplinary team required to effectively work in a digital setting and contribute to fostering a collegial environment Participation in meetings and improvement projects as required.

Key Accountabilities

Autonomously perform screening mammography to a high-quality standard.





Perform quality assurance test as specified by the BreastScreen National Accreditation Standard (NAS) and Royal Australian and New Zealand College Radiologist (RANZCR) requirements.

Rotate through assessment clinic. Perform work up tomosynthesis mammography and procedures including biopsy.

Participate in ongoing education and training.

About You

Experienced mammographer with strong clinical expertise.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.

Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Technology recognised by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT).

Current Victorian licence to operate irradiating apparatus under the Radiation Act 2005.

Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner.
