Work & Training, in partnership with Devonport City Council, is looking for a motivated apprentice to join their team and complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (AUR31220).

This is your chance to earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and work on a wide range of vehicles, small plant & heavy machinery used every day across the local community.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the Council's workshop team, you'll learn how to:

- ✅ Service, maintain and repair vehicles and heavy equipment
- ✅ Diagnose faults and solve mechanical problems
- ✅ Use industry-standard tools, equipment and technology
- ✅ Inspect and test machinery to ensure it is operating safely
- ✅ Work alongside experienced mechanics and tradespeople
- ✅ Build practical skills that can set you up for a long-term career

No two days will be the same, and you'll gain experience working on a diverse fleet of vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.

Essential Requirements

- Current Tasmanian driver's licence
- Good literacy, numeracy and digital skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and workplace instructions
- Comfortable working around oils, grease, petrol and diesel

Bonus Points If You Have

- Completed Year 12 or relevant VET studies
- Experience using hand tools
- First Aid Certificate
- White Card
