ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced National EHS Manager to join our team based in Alexandria, NSW.
Reporting to the Head of Field Quality & Excellence, this position is responsible for leading and driving Schindler Australia's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy and management system across the business. You will provide expert leadership, guidance and support to operational teams nationally, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company standards while fostering a proactive safety culture.
You will play a key role in ensuring continuous improvement, reducing risk and achieving best-practice safety outcomes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Formal qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Trade qualification highly regarded,
or significant experience within a manufacturing, construction, industrial or similar blue-collar environment
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a senior EHS leadership role
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading safety management systems and driving organisational safety culture
- Experience managing audits, incident investigations and corrective action programs
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Proven ability to coach and support leaders at all levels of the organisation
- Strong analytical, reporting and continuous improvement capabilities
- Knowledge of lift industry operations and safety requirements will be highly regarded
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Schindler's EHS Management System nationally
- Drive the company's safety strategy, objectives and initiatives to support a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and company requirements
- Develop, implement and monitor national audit, inspection and observation programs
- Manage internal and external EHS audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions
- Provide expert EHS advice,
coaching and support to operational leaders and employees
- Lead and coordinate EHS training, education and awareness programs
- Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics and implement improvement initiatives
- Manage relationships with external regulatory bodies and support investigations where required
- Facilitate branch safety committees and support injury management initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking, risk management and best-practice safety programs
- Lead and develop the national EHS team to deliver high-performance outcomes
- Promote and champion Schindler's commitment to achieving zero workplace injuries
