About the role The Nurse Unit Manager is a key member of Nucleus Network’s Clinical Operations team and plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the clinical unit by leading nursing teams, overseeing participant care and ensuring high standards of quality, safety and staff performance across clinical trial activities.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of clinical nurses, providing guidance, support and mentorship to enhance their performance and professional growth
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, identifying areas or improvement and implementing appropriate training
- Ensure clinical trials are conducted in accordance with all relevant standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Organize necessary resources, personnel, equipment, and consumables to conduct clinical trials safely and on schedule
- Administer Investigational Products, prescriptions, and medications
- Provide general nursing care and monitoring participants well-being
- Conduct procedures such as vital signs, ECG’s, blood collection, blood processing and data collection
Requirements
- Registered Division 1 Nurse with AHPRA (no restrictions)
- 5 years minimum post graduate experience
- At least 1 year experience in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage staff, oversee rostering and coordination of clinical unit shift allocations (including ensuring the right skills and staffing mix are available to meet activity requirements)
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Attention to detail and the ability to adhere to documentation guidelines and study protocols
