The Role

Merriwa Industries is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead the Wangaratta Packaging division across both primary and secondary packaging operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an Operations Manager who enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day operation, working alongside their team and leading by example.

You will play an important role in leading the production team, strengthening operational performance, building customer relationships and driving a culture of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement.

This role could also be suited to an experienced 2IC looking to grow, an assistant Operations Manager or experienced Production Manager.

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Leading and developing the packaging workforce.
- Managing day-to-day operations across primary and secondary packaging.
- Ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations.
- Driving quality and food safety standards.
- Managing commercial and customer performance.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering positive change.

Skills & Attributes To be successful in this role, you will:

- Possess an open, influential and engaging communication style.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
- Demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and professional accountability.
- Have demonstrated experience in FMCG manufacturing.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of OH&S; and quality systems.
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Have demonstrated knowledge of budget management, including profit and loss reporting.
- Be able to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver positive change, utilising the principles of continuous improvement.
- Be able to multitask and oversee several operations at a time.
- Have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Have experience in managing and developing team members.
