20 years ago, our founder Jon started Five by Five in his spare bedroom in Burleigh Heads, building websites in boardies and helping local businesses grow online.

What began as a one-man mission juggling sales, marketing, delivery and everything in between has grown into one of Australia's leading digital agencies. Along the way, plenty has changed, but the heart of the business hasn't.

We've always believed great digital marketing is about more than websites, rankings or ad campaigns. It's about creating meaningful connections, building trust, and helping businesses thrive.

Today, our team of 25 passionate people partner with businesses across Australia to generate more leads, grow their brands, and achieve meaningful results online. We work fast, we celebrate the wins, we have each other's backs, and we genuinely love what we do. Culture here isn't a poster on the wall; it's how we show up every day.

And now we're entering our next chapter, and we've created a brand new role to help us lead it well.

We're looking for someone who wants to help us build it. Someone who loves people. Someone who loves getting things done. Someone who gets a real buzz from bringing a team along on the journey.

THE ROLE

This is the person who keeps our day-to-day humming and our team connected to where we're heading.

You'll be the heartbeat of the team: making sure the work is flowing, people are supported and motivated, and everyone can see how their daily work ladders up to the bigger picture. You'll champion our clients inside the business, be the steady hand when something needs one, and protect the culture that makes this such a special place to work.

Here's the important part: this isn't a technical role. You won't need to know how to build a website or run an SEO campaign; that craft lives with our brilliant specialists. What you'll bring is the ability to lead, connect, energise and get things done, and the care to make sure both our team and our clients feel genuinely looked after.

It's a role for a natural people-person and organiser who sees what needs doing and makes it happen.

You bring the people skills, the energy and the follow-through. We'll bring a team worth leading and a mission worth building.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

No two days are the same, but here's what a fairly typical one might look like:

- 8:00am Coffee in hand, you settle in and scan team messages and emails. You prep for the day, look across what's on for each team, spot where you can add the most value, and get your priorities locked in.
- 9:00am The whole team is now online, so you run the morning rhythm: quick alignment on priorities, connect the day's work back to what we're building, and get everyone energised about what matters most today.



Let's do this!
- 9:30am One-on-one with someone on the delivery team. Part check-in, part support, part reminder of how their work ladders up to the bigger picture. They leave explicit, motivated and backed. Win!
- 10:30am A client matter comes through from our Support team. You bring the right people together, agree on the way forward, and keep both the client and the team feeling confident and looked after. A great chance to show clients we always have their back.
- 11:15am Zoom out on the client experience. You dig into some recent positive feedback, spot something worth building into how we work as standard, and share it so the whole team levels up. Feedback is gold, and this is how we keep raising the bar.
- 12:00pm Lunch.
- 12:45pm Time for the good stuff: the culture calendar. Two birthdays and a work anniversary are coming up, so you order each team member's favourite cake to celebrate them at morning tea later this week. You also start pulling together the next team day, drafting the plan and sense-checking the budget.
- 1:45pm A catch-up with a team member who's been doing a excellent job. You celebrate the wins, talk through where they want to grow next, and agree a way forward together with their department head. Seeing the team thrive, and our clients win as a result, is the best part of the role.
- 2:45pm Knock out your follow-ups, update your notes, and get tomorrow's team meeting agenda ready to go.
- 3:30pm Quick sync with the business owners. Share where the team is winning, flag anything worth getting ahead of early, and celebrate a client win together.
- 4:00pm Done for the day, having moved the team, the clients and the culture forward.

- The business owners are freed up from day-to-day coordination to focus on strategy, knowing our team and clients are well supported.

ABOUT YOU You're someone who genuinely enjoys helping people succeed. You love people, and people are naturally drawn to you. You'll thrive in this role if you:

- Are a natural with people, with high emotional intelligence and a love of great conversations
- Are organised and on top of it, keeping things moving and making sure nothing important slips
- Are energised by a vision and know how to connect people's daily work to the bigger picture
- Keep the client front of mind and help the team see how great work and happy clients go hand in hand
- Can have a direct, honest conversation with neutrality, calmly and without ego
- Are confident, not arrogant: you roll up your sleeves and get involved, but read the room first
- Are calm and grounded under pressure
- Are a fast learner who doesn't need deep technical knowledge to add value from day one
- Take initiative and see opportunity where others might not

Experience leading, coordinating or running a team (in any industry, you don't need to come from digital or marketing) is highly regarded.
