The Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Revenue NSW Payments & Financial Processes will support the Digital Product Manager - Payments & Financial management in the strategic development, implementation, and management of the digital payment & financial ledger system. This role requires a deep understanding of government payment processes and financial systems, with a strong accounting background. The SME will ensure that the system aligns with Banking and Treasury regulations and standards, and meets the financial needs of Revenue NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in Government Payments: Provide expert knowledge on Revenue NSW payment processes, ensuring the digital system aligns with current practices and regulations.
- Financial Process Management: Oversee the financial processes within the digital payment system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide insights on financial processes, ensuring their needs are met.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the system complies with relevant financial regulations and standards, including data security and privacy requirements.
- Accounting Support: Provide accounting expertise to support the integration of the payment system and financial ledger with banking services and other financial systems.
- Performance Analysis: Assist in monitoring the performance of the digital payment and financial management system, using financial data and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on financial processes within the system, ensuring effective use and understanding.
- Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of payment and financial processes and system configurations, ensuring transparency and ease of reference.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with financial accounting systems, with extensive expertise in government systems
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Government payment processes and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with data security and privacy regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Accounting (e.g., CPA, CA).
- Experience with digital payment systems or financial ledgers.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $133,348 base plus superannuation
