Role Description The Pilates Event Instructor will lead small to medium group Pilates sessions and wellness experiences at corporate culture and connection events, as well as private gatherings such as hens and birthday celebrations. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning session structures, preparing event equipment, collaborating with clients to tailor session intensity and focus, and guiding participants through safe and engaging Pilates, breathwork, and recovery practices. The instructor will support event flow by coordinating with event hosts, managing participant check-ins, and offering clear instructions and modifications for varying fitness levels.
Additional tasks may involve contributing to session formats,
providing feedback on event design, and completing brief administrative duties such as post-event notes or client follow-up. This is a contract, hybrid role based in the Greater Melbourne Area, with event delivery primarily on-site and some planning, preparation, and communication tasks performed from home.
Qualifications
- Relevant Pilates instruction skills, including experience leading group classes, offering modifications, and ensuring safe movement practices.
- Strong event facilitation and group management capabilities, with the ability to create welcoming, inclusive environments and guide diverse participant groups.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal instruction, active listening, and a professional, approachable manner.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in broader wellness practices such as breath training, mindfulness, or recovery techniques (e.g., cold therapy).
- Recognized Pilates qualification or certification, and current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain these credentials.
- Ability to work a versatile schedule, including weekdays and occasional evenings or weekends, and to travel to event locations within the Greater Melbourne Area.
- Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including using email and basic digital tools for scheduling, client communication, and documentation.
- Previous experience in corporate wellness, group fitness, or event-based instruction is highly beneficial.
