Pit Technician

Source: uWorkin Our Mt Kelly Operations (Lady Annie mine), located approximately 120km north-northwest of Mount Isa, has been an operational copper mine for over 10 years.

We are currently seeking skilled and safety-focused Production Pit Technician to join our team and contribute to the growing success of our processing operations., * Follow the supervision and guidance of Technical Services Manager, Geologists, Engineers and Surveyors to carry out site support tasks in an efficient and safe manner.

- Perform field-based geological sampling and basic logging in active mining pits.
- Mark up ore shapes in the pit.
- Sample dispatch and reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection and entry of geological data into company registers and spreadsheets.
- Keep vehicles and work areas tidy and efficiently organised for operational activities.
- Manage and maintain sampling equipment and materials.
- Pre-emptively communicate to prepare upcoming work areas for activities.

About The Candidate We are looking for reliable, hardworking individuals who work well in a team, take pride in their work, and are committed to maintaining a safe working environment., * Ability to operate to safety standards set and mitigate risk





- Valuable written and oral communication skills
- Good comprehension skills to follow written SOP's and verbal instruction.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous data recording habits.
- Proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Able to work in a small team in a remote area
- Possess basic computer skills and ability to use basic Microsoft Office software
- Full working rights in Australia
- The ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- Highly regarded but not essential:
- Familiar with safe operating practises in mining
- Previous experience in a similar role within mining or exploration
- Familiarity or experience with sampling, sample QAQC and despatch
- Familiarity with basic core mark-up, core cutting etc
- A first aid certificate
- Licenced and experience operating a forklift
