Principal Lawyer & Junior Lawyers

Legal Path Lawyers is seeking experienced and motivated legal professionals to join our growing practice. We are currently recruiting for a Principal and Junior Lawyers who are committed to providing practical, client-focused and commercially sound legal services.

Our practice works across a diverse range of matters, including immigration, civil and commercial litigation, Magistrates’ Court matters, tribunal proceedings, commercial and retail leasing, property matters, wills and estates, traffic matters and general legal disputes.

1. Principal

We are seeking an experienced lawyer who can take responsibility for complex matters, supervise junior lawyers and contribute to the continued development of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a varied portfolio of legal matters from initial instructions through to resolution.
- Provide strategic legal advice to individual and corporate clients.
- Conduct and supervise litigation in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court, Supreme Court and relevant tribunals.
- Prepare and review pleadings, affidavits, submissions, applications, correspondence and other legal documents.
- Represent clients at conferences, negotiations, mediations and court or tribunal hearings where appropriate.
- Brief and work closely with barristers and expert witnesses.
- Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior lawyers, paralegals and support staff.
- Ensure matters are conducted in accordance with professional obligations, court rules,



legislation and practice requirements.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide transparent advice regarding legal strategy, costs and risks.
- Assist with practice development, systems, precedents and professional standards.
- Contribute to business development and referral relationships.

Requirements

- Admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner and entitled to practise in Victoria without conditions on practising certificate.
- Current Victorian practising certificate.

2. Junior Lawyer

We are also seeking enthusiastic Junior Lawyers who would like to develop their legal careers through exposure to a broad range of matters and direct client work.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the management of legal files under supervision.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and file notes.
- Draft letters, affidavits, submissions, applications, briefs and court documents.
- Communicate with clients, counsel, courts, tribunals, government departments and other solicitors.
- Assist with preparing briefs to counsel and hearing materials.
- Attend client conferences, mediations and court or tribunal hearings where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate file records, deadlines and case-management information.
- Develop practical skills in client management, advocacy, drafting and legal strategy.

Requirements

- Admitted, or shortly to be admitted, as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
- Eligible to hold a Victorian practising certificate.
