About the role

My client a Gold & Copper focused Exploration Company are seeking an experienced Project Exploration Geologist to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. This is a full-time position Campaign based from West Perth, offering the opportunity to work on significant exploration projects within the mining and resources sector. As a Project Exploration Geologist, you will play a crucial role in advancing our exploration initiatives, driving geological investigations, and contributing to the discovery and development of mineral resources.

This position offers strategic importance within our organisation, directly supporting our commitment to identifying and evaluating prospective mining opportunities.

Key responsibilities

You will be involved in target generation, drilling programs, field mapping, geological interpretation and project management. The role provides genuine responsibility and the opportunity to influence exploration strategy while working alongside experienced exploration professionals.

- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and field investigations on exploration projects to identify mineralisation and assess resource potential
- Analyse geological data, interpret drill core, and prepare detailed geological reports and technical assessments
- Design and manage exploration programmes, including drilling strategies and sample collection protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geophysicists, mining engineers and project managers to integrate geological findings with other datasets




- Prepare geological models and 3D visualisations to communicate exploration results to stakeholders and management
- Monitor and evaluate exploration results against project objectives and recommend strategic directions
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety protocols and industry best practice standards on exploration sites
- Document geological findings comprehensively and maintain detailed project records and databases
- Contribute to exploration budgets, timelines and resource planning

What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Economic Geology, Geological Sciences or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 6 years' professional experience in exploration geology within the mining and resources sector
- Strong field geology skills with demonstrated experience in geological mapping and sample collection
- Proficiency in geological modelling software and data interpretation tools
- Experience with drill core logging and interpretation of geochemical and geophysical data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare clear technical reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail




- Ability to work effectively in team environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental (HSE) protocols in mining operations
- Proficiency with relevant software including GIS, geological databases and 3D modelling applications
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to undertake field work, including remote locations
- Preferred: Experience with mineral systems analysis, metallogenic studies or specific commodities relevant to current market focus
