THE ROLE
As a Project Officer within the Maintenance Assurance and Property Condition team you are responsible for the delivery of compliance and auditing functions relating to the Homes Victoria maintenance contracts. The primary function of the role involves the completion of in office and desktop compliance audits on maintenance repair works carried out by Homes Victoria contractors, as well as the assessment of property condition. A high standard of building/trade knowledge, project co-ordination, computer literacy and contract acumen are required to adequately investigate and report on cost, quality, timeliness, and adherence to contract terms and building code.The primary function of compliance investigations is to ensure the contractors completed work demonstrate full compliance with the tender documents and quality assurance principals associated with the Property Maintenance Service Contracts and broader building industry legislation.
Accountabilities Include
- Attend department owned properties around the state to assess the quality, timeliness and cost of building work completed by the department's maintenance contractors. Overnight stays in regional areas are a requirement of the role.
- Write directly to the builders/contractors on the findings of your inspections to resolve any outstanding non-conformances, making decisions based off your detailed knowledge of building regulations and the contract the work is being completed under.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of contracts and projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
