About the role The QC Officer plays a key role in our receivals laboratory operations and in processing operations. This is a diverse role that includes tasks and responsibilities in two different environments. When working in the receivals laboratory during the harvest season, the QC Officer will be preparing samples for testing and supporting the day-to-day activities to maintain efficient lab operations.
Outside of harvest season, this role will be working with the quality and production teams to maintain the Quality Management System and support continuous improvement. The overall key responsibilities include:
Key responsibilities
- Support the Processing and Quality teams as required
- Maintain the laboratory operations, including incoming product assessments, data entry and sample logging, reporting, internal calibrations, and daily processing checks
- Ensure samples are organised to maintain traceability and KPIs
- Assist in laboratory testing and conduct general laboratory administration which will include reporting
- Maintain Australian Macadamia Society KLAS assessor training and assist in maintaining AMS KLAS accreditation
- Monitor, report and provide guidance on compliance with Company quality systems and processes
- Ensure compliance with GMP and HACCP standards
- Competently deliver training to all operational staff to ensure food safety standards and practices are followed
- Conduct and document internal audits and participate in third party audits
- Assist with the documentation and close-out of non-conformances and corrective actions raised from audits
- Engage with operational staff regularly and support the operational team achieve KPIs
About you
- Be able to work versatile working hours
- Be punctual and reliable
- Be available for overtime during busy periods
- Have a high attention to detail in regard to sample integrity, facts and figures and relaying information
- Be a team player
- Capable of standing for long periods
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with a GFSI scheme and retailer quality system, and an understanding of audit processes
- Confident approach in working with regulatory bodies and the ability to conduct effective training
- Ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure
