COPILOT is a dynamic and exciting service that provides rapid access to multi-disciplinary geriatric assessment (medical, nursing, and allied health) for older people living in the community setting. Referral enables care to be implemented in the patient’s home environment, avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital, and leading to improved patient outcomes.
The Ambulance Response Registered Nurse will provide a high quality clinical service to clients aged 16 years and over and their families/carers to optimise health outcomes and support clients keeping well in the community.
The Ambulance
Response RN will work alongside the COPILOT CNC’s to provide evidence-based care to clients residing in their own homes or nursing homes for acute care based in the community with the goal of avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital.
Are You the Right Fit?
The right candidate will be confident in working independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment and have excellent clinical reasoning and decision making skills, along with excellent communication skills; and have experience across a wide range of settings and clinical areas but ideally will have experience in providing service in Aged Care and community-based settings.
Selection Criteria To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the role, with a background in aged care and community health settings preferred.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced. environment, providing compassionate care that is culturally responsive as well as effectively communicating with health service providers and consumers using questioning, clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
