Your Impact: A Day in the Life
Bring your expertise to a team where your day-to-day work creates visible,
long-term stability for children and young people with disabilities. You will be primary support by:
- Providing a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment for young people.
- Supporting daily living skills, emotional regulation, and personal development.
- Facilitating community engagement, educational support, and recreational activities.
- Note: As children and young people require round-the-clock care, 24/7 shift availability (including active night shifts, weekends, and sleepovers) is required.
Qualifications & Essential Criteria Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or relevant qualification), or as per the Residential Care Competency Framework (when implemented), or a Diploma in Community Services (or related field) preferred.
- Previous experience in residential care, youth work, or providing direct care to children and young people.
- Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander applicants: A formal qualification is desirable, but relevant experience and a willingness to participate in training is warmly welcomed and accepted.
Essentials:
- Valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) & NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Willingness to be listed on the Residential Care Workers Register (RCWR).
- Full working rights in Australia (Westhaven cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role).
