QIX Consulting is partnering with a major banking client to engage an experienced Release Manager / Application Migration Delivery Lead for a large-scale Data Centre migration program.

This is not a traditional Senior Project Manager or Program Manager role.

We are specifically looking for someone with recent hands-on Release Management experience who can take ownership of application migration delivery and confidently deep dive into infrastructure readiness, technical dependencies and production cutover activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end release delivery for applications migrating between Data Centre environments
- Develop and manage detailed release, migration and cutover plans/runbooks
- Drive application and infrastructure readiness ahead of migration windows
- Coordinate migration waves, release sequencing and technical dependencies
- Work closely with Application, Infrastructure, Network, Database, Middleware, Security and Vendor teams
- Validate readiness across servers/VMs, networks, firewalls, databases, middleware, DNS, certificates, connectivity and supporting services
- Coordinate migration rehearsals and production cutover activities
- Drive Go/No-Go readiness and ensure appropriate rollback/recovery planning is in place
- Coordinate application validation, smoke/PVT testing and post-migration verification
- Manage production release windows, technical issues and escalation during cutover
- Coordinate post-release hypercare and transition into BAU
- Manage release risks, dependencies,



change controls and implementation approvals

What We’re Looking For

- Strong and recent Release Management experience within complex enterprise environments
- Demonstrated ownership of application migration releases, ideally involving Data Centre migrations
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and environment readiness
- Experience developing and executing detailed cutover plans/runbooks
- Hands-on experience coordinating production releases, rehearsals, Go/No-Go, rollback and hypercare
- Ability to deep dive into technical readiness rather than relying solely on status reporting
- Good understanding of application dependencies across infrastructure, network, database, middleware, security and hosting environments
- Strong stakeholder and technical-team coordination skills
- Experience within banking or financial services highly regarded
- Cloud, hybrid or large-scale Data Centre migration experience desirable The Profile

We’re looking for someone who can confidently answer:

“Is this application technically ready to migrate, what are the dependencies, what could prevent the cutover from succeeding, and what is our recovery plan if something goes wrong?”
