About the role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at our East Launceston store. This is a full-time position based in Launceston TAS 7250. In this role, you will be at the heart of our retail operations, delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the smooth running of our store.

As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play a vital part in creating positive customer experiences, driving sales, and contributing to a professional, welcoming retail environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your retail career with a growing business.

Key responsibilities

- Provide friendly, efficient and professional customer service to all customers, assisting with product selection and answering questions about merchandise
- Process sales transactions accurately and securely using point-of-sale systems
- Stock shelves and displays with merchandise, maintaining neat and organised store areas
- Maintain awareness of current products, pricing, promotions and store policies to provide accurate information to customers
- Handle cash and card payments with accuracy, ensuring proper reconciliation at the end of shifts
- Support visual merchandising efforts to create attractive and appealing product displays
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management tasks




- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the store, including rest rooms and customer areas
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet store targets and objectives
- Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements

What we're looking for

- Previous retail or customer service experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues
- Reliability and punctuality with the ability to work flexibly, including Saturdays as required
- A positive, can-do attitude with enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic numeracy skills and comfort using point-of-sale systems
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and bending
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing store requirements
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
