Scheduler – Major Defence Capability Program (Canberra)
OCRT Consulting is a sovereign and veteran-owned SME delivering expertise and outcomes to Government, Defence, industry and the private sector. We are a cohort of diverse talent aligned by the same goal: to work on impactful projects that build sovereign capability and make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.
The opportunity
We're seeking Schedulers to support a division responsible for stewardship and assurance compliance across one of Australia's most significant, highest-profile capability programs. This is scheduling work at the centre of a highly complex, multi-workstream enterprise: you'll build division-wide milestone and certification schedules, integrate them into the group-level Integrated Master Schedule, and give leadership a clear, defensible view of delivery risk across the program.
What you'll do
- Develop, deliver and maintain division-wide milestone and certification schedules aligned to program phases, using Open Plan Professional and other in-system tools
- Build and maintain a branch enabling-function and ICT schedule
- Coordinate, monitor and report on scheduled activity progress
- Identify and advise on schedule delays, changes, risks and mitigations
- Own and maintain the divisional Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Integrate the divisional delivery schedule into the group-level Integration Master Schedule (IMS)
- Coordinate divisional schedule reviews and audits, and support group-level reviews
- Provide ad hoc scheduling mentorship and advice across the group
- Produce monthly and ad hoc schedule reporting against agreed metrics
- Participate in governance forums and stakeholder meetings as required
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated experience developing and integrating schedules on complex, scalable Defence capability programs
- Experience with One Defence Capability System (ODCS)
- Strong analytical skills; able to work through complex program and project data to surface trends, patterns and risk
- Comfortable working under pressure with competing priorities across multiple workstreams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Role details: Canberra, ACT | NV1 minimum | 12-month engagement with a further 12-month option
What OCRT offers
- Competitive remuneration including annual reviews, salary packaging, performance bonuses and incentives
- Career development with training support and career progression
- Flexible working arrangements, paid parental leave, purchase additional annual leave
- The chance to work at the heart of a program with genuine national significance
If you want your scheduling expertise applied to one of Australia's most consequential capability programs, apply with your CV.
