Role Description This contract Scrum Master role is based in Canberra in a hybrid arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility.

The Scrum

Master will facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring Scrum practices are understood and followed by the team. The role includes removing impediments, supporting the Product Owner with backlog refinement and user story clarity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Master will coach team members on Agile principles, collaborate with stakeholders to improve delivery processes,



and help maintain transparent communication around scope, priorities, and progress. The position requires regular coordination with software developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable effective, value-driven delivery.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid Sprint Planning and User Stories skills, including backlog refinement and story estimation.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret team metrics, identify impediments, and support data-informed decisions.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for facilitating ceremonies, stakeholder engagement, and clear documentation.
- Candidates should possess a good understanding of Software Development processes and lifecycle to effectively support technical teams.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field are beneficial.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe certifications are advantageous.
- Experience working in Agile environments, preferably with cross-functional teams in consulting or government sectors, is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, facilitate collaboration, and drive continuous improvement within diverse teams is beneficial.
