Our Roseville office is conveniently located next to Roseville Station, with plenty of on-site parking. This role would particularly suit an experienced accountant living locally on the North Shore who wants to work closer to home and family without the daily commute into the CBD.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who can step into a senior role and confidently manage a large and established portfolio of approximately 500 clients and entities.

This is a role for someone who is exceptionally organised, technologically capable and comfortable managing a busy workload with multiple priorities at the same time.

You need to be someone who takes genuine pride in their work. Accuracy, presentation, responsiveness, organisation and following matters through to completion are extremely important to us.

This is not a position where you will be constantly supervised or reminded about deadlines. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, stays on top of their workload and can be trusted to manage clients and responsibilities independently.

What We’re Looking For

You will ideally have

- CA qualification
- A minimum of 8 years’ Australian public practice experience




- Strong technical knowledge across taxation, compliance, tax planning and business advisory
- Experience managing a substantial portfolio of clients and entities
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate professionally with clients
- Excellent technology skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Confidence working in a modern, cloud-based and increasingly automated accounting environment
- Exceptional organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines and tasks simultaneously
- Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
- The ability to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy or quality
- Robust attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- A proactive approach to following up outstanding matters and keeping work moving
- The ability to take ownership of tasks from beginning to completion
- A high level of personal responsibility and accountability
- The ability to work independently without requiring constant supervision
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset
- The ability to supervise, mentor and eventually build a team around you

Being tech-savvy is essential for this role. We are looking for someone who embraces technology rather than avoids it. You should be comfortable learning new systems, improving processes and using technology to work more efficiently.

Given the level of direct client contact involved, professional-level written and spoken English is also essential.

Your ResponsibilitiesYou will

- Manage an established portfolio of approximately 500 clients and entities
- Manage numerous jobs, deadlines and client requests concurrently
- Prioritise your workload and ensure deadlines are met
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns




- Manage tax planning and compliance requirements
- Provide practical business and taxation advice
- Manage client workflow independently
- Proactively follow up clients and outstanding information
- Review work prepared by other accountants
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate accountants
- Assist in building and leading your own accounting team
- Use technology and automation to improve efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve our internal systems and processes
- Work closely with the Directors on more complex client matters
