About the Role
My Wellbeing Supports is seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing team. This position is ideally suited to a Proficient or Advanced Practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality Positive Behaviour Support while supporting the development of other practitioners.
The successful candidate will maintain their own behaviour support caseload while also providing mentoring, practice support and guidance to Core and Developing Practitioners across the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to clinical excellence, strengthen practitioner capability, and play a key role in the ongoing growth of a values-driven organisation.
Depending on operational requirements, the role may involve a combination of direct service delivery, practitioner supervision, Behaviour Support Plan review, clinical consultation, training and project work.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
- Conduct complex functional behaviour assessments and behavioural formulation.
- Develop, implement and review Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Lead team-oriented consultation with participants, families, support teams and other professionals.
- Provide evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support services that improve quality of life and reduce restrictive practices.
- Support participants across home, school, community, employment and supported living environments.
Practice Leadership
- Provide mentoring and practice support to Core and Developing Behaviour Support Practitioners.
- Assist with review and quality assurance of Behaviour Support Plans and associated documentation.
- Support practitioner development against the NDIS Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
- Contribute to reflective practice, case consultation and clinical discussions.
- Assist with onboarding and capability development of new practitioners.
Quality & Compliance
- Support compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and Behaviour Support Rules.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and development of organisational resources.
- Promote ethical, person-centred and rights-based practice across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission suitability as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support services.
- Ability to independently manage a behaviour support caseload.
- Strong report writing, assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
- Experience developing and reviewing Behaviour Support Plans.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within service areas.
Highly Regarded
- Recognition as a Proficient or Advanced Practitioner under the NDIS Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting less experienced practitioners.
- Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech Pathology or related allied health background.
- Experience supporting complex presentations including restrictive practices, forensic involvement, trauma, intellectual disability, autism and psychosocial disability.
- Experience delivering training, professional development or practice leadership activities.
- Located in NSW within the Sydney or Illawarra areas.
