Join the QPWS&P; State Planning Team and contribute to the effective planning and management of Queensland’s protected areas, marine parks and State forests. As a Senior Conservation Officer, you will help strengthen the quality, integrity and accessibility of environmental and planning information that underpins the Values Based Management Framework (VBMF). Working across planning databases, spatial information and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and project management systems, you will help ensure our data and systems are reliable, fit for purpose and effectively support evidence-based, adaptive park management.
This is an prospect to combine environmental knowledge with spatial, information, data, or systems expertise to make practical improvements to how planning is delivered across QPWS&P.;
You will contribute to data management and data systems, GIS and spatial information, data analysis, and quality assurance, while helping develop procedures, standards and guidance that improve system use, data quality, and governance.
We are looking for someone who enjoys critical thinking and analytical problem solving, can translate information and systems use and needs into practical solutions, and can work collaboratively with planners and other stakeholders to improve the information that supports the VBMF.
