Role Description The Senior Consultant, Evaluation and Research is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality evaluation and research projects in social policy contexts, including developing methodologies, data collection plans, and analytical frameworks. Day-to-day tasks include leading stakeholder consultations, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, synthesizing findings, and producing clear, actionable reports and presentations.
The Senior
Consultant will collaborate closely with clients in a co-design capacity, facilitating workshops and feedback sessions and ensuring that project insights are grounded in lived experience and practical policy considerations. The role also involves mentoring team members, contributing to project management activities,
and supporting business development by providing support in drafting proposals.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in evaluation and research design, including mixed-methods approaches, data collection, and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in social policy, public sector, or community-focused projects, with the ability to translate evidence into practical recommendations.
- Advanced skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and co-design, including work with diverse communities and cross-sector partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise reports, policy briefs, and presentations for different audiences.
- Proven project management capabilities, such as planning, timeline management, budgeting, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, public policy, evaluation, research, or a related discipline; postgraduate study is highly regarded.
- Experience using research and evaluation tools (e.g., statistical software, survey platforms, qualitative analysis tools) is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively and to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
