Leichhardt is an independent, Australian-owned solar salt project headquartered in Perth with operations in northern Western Australia. Our sites include the Lake MacLeod operations near Carnarvon and the Eramurra Project, 55km outside Karratha.

Lake MacLeod also produces approximately 1Mtpa of gypsum, predominantly exported to the Asia-Pacific region. Our gypsum operation includes excavation and water leaching to produce a plasterboard and cement grade product.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Contracts and Legal Counsel to work closely with the General Counsel and Finance team to support the legal and procurement function. You will be responsible for contributing to the company’s governance framework, supporting compliance initiatives and manage legal risk.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice across the company’s operations, projects and corporate teams
- Negotiate, draft, review and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, such as, procurement and supply agreements, service agreements, project and construction contracts, land access agreements and offtake contracts
- Review and advise on major contractual commitments, including the interpretation of contractual rights, obligations, liabilities and risk allocation provisions
- Develop, review and maintain legal templates, policies,



procedures and compliance frameworks
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the resources sector and advise stakeholders on compliance obligations and business impacts
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Provide legal support in relation to mining, native title, heritage, environmental, employment, property and corporate law matters as they arise.

A full position description will be provided at the interview. What We Are Looking For To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills, attributes and experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Law
- Current Australian practising certificate
- 4+ years post admission experience in a law firm, or similar in-house role
- Strong commercial acumen and a solution-focused approach
- Ability to think commercially and propose practical solutions to manage or mitigate risks

It will also be highly regarded if you have:

- Experience in mining and resources sector
- Experience in procurement and commercial functions
