About the role

Vinova are working with an established organisation operating across the energy and infrastructure sector, seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its commercial legal team.

The role is focused on providing legal support across major bids and tender opportunities, working closely with commercial and project teams throughout the tender lifecycle.

You'll be involved from the early stages of an opportunity, supporting tender strategy, reviewing contractual positions, advising on risk and negotiating with counterparties through to contract award.

This is a highly commercial, front-end role suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of legal, commercial and project delivery.

Duties

- Provide legal support across major bids, tenders and commercial opportunities
- Review, draft and negotiate complex project and commercial contracts
- Advise bid teams on contractual risk, departures and commercial positions
- Support tender strategy and contractual governance




- Lead and participate in negotiations with customers, partners and counterparties
- Work closely with senior commercial and project stakeholders throughout the bid process
- Provide practical legal advice on key commercial decisions
- Support broader corporate and commercial matters where required

Skills & experience

- Strong front-end projects, construction, energy or infrastructure legal experience
- Experience supporting major bids, tenders or competitive procurement processes
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial or project contracts
- Ability to assess contractual risk and provide commercially pragmatic advice
- Confident working directly with senior commercial stakeholders
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Australian legal qualification with solid post-admission experience
