Our Contracting Division focuses on placing experienced engineers directly into client operations, supporting mine planning, production engineering, mine start-ups, technical services, statutory coverage, and operational improvement initiatives across a range of mining environments.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our Contracting Division in a full-time, permanent position.
As a Senior Planning Engineer (FIFO / site-based), you will be deployed directly to operating mine sites across Western Australia, providing hands-on mine planning and technical services support to client operations.
You will play a key role in:
- Developing short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans
- Optimising production outcomes
- Supporting operational decision-making
- Improving planning systems and processes
- Providing trusted technical advice to site leadership
- Delivering practical engineering solutions that create measurable value
This is a high-impact operational role suited to engineers who thrive in site environments and can deliver value from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver senior-level mine planning support within operating mine sites.
- Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans.
- Create practical mine designs, development plans,
schedules, and production forecasts.
- Produce and maintain mine planning deliverables using Deswik, EPS, or similar software.
- Work closely with operational and technical teams to optimise mine performance.
- Assist with drill and blast, ventilation, and infrastructure planning activities.
- Review and improve planning systems, workflows, and reporting processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and operational planning cycles.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to site leadership teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and operational performance.

Your Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in mine planning roles.
- Strong background in mine planning and technical services.
- Experience using planning software such as Deswik, EPS, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, scheduling principles, and operational constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across operational and technical teams.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance,
and continuous improvement.
- Manual (C-Class) Driver's Licence and full Australian working rights.
- Ability to work autonomously within dynamic site environments.
