Join our Brisbane-based team as a Senior Project Officer (GLA), in a fixed-term temporary opportunity. You will assess and process land acquisition applications, interpret and apply legislation, provide advice to stakeholders and prepare submissions and documentation to support acquisition outcomes. Our Land division are the stewards for 60% of the land in Queensland and we deliver a variety of land and property services across Queensland, including land and asset valuations; state land administration and on ground management surveying services; native title claims and compensation; Indigenous land services; vegetation management; place names and government land acquisitions.

As a Senior Project Officer (GLA), you will contribute to the work of the Land Acquisitions and Divestments team within Lands Division. The team considers applications under the Acquisition of Land Act 1967 for public purposes and government land acquisitions and works closely with constructing authorities to progress land acquisition matters.

In this role, you will process land acquisition applications, interpret and apply relevant legislation, and provide advice on land tenure, easements, native title and related acquisition matters. You will prepare submissions, briefs and correspondence, support publication and documentation requirements and work with government agencies, statutory authorities, landholders and industry stakeholders to progress outcomes. You will also contribute to team initiatives and provide guidance to colleagues where required.

Success in this role will come from your ability to analyse complex matters, apply legislation and policy, provide practical advice, build productive relationships and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes. Strong communication, initiative and sound judgement will be highly valued.
