About the Roles

These are identified positions for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

VACYPA is recruiting for two Senior Project Officer positions across our Workforce and Education portfolios.

These roles provide an exciting chance to lead strategic projects, build strong partnerships and support initiatives that strengthen the Aboriginal child and family services sector across Victoria.

Working closely with ACCOs, government, community and sector stakeholders, you will coordinate projects, facilitate engagement activities, contribute to advocacy efforts and support initiatives that improve outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people.

Senior Project Officer, WorkforceThe Workforce portfolio focuses on strengthening and growing the Aboriginal child and family services workforce across Victoria.

Key areas of responsibility include:

- Supporting workforce development and sector capacity-building initiatives.
- Coordinating projects that strengthen recruitment, retention and workforce sustainability.
- Building partnerships with ACCOs, training providers and key stakeholders.
- Supporting strategic workforce planning and sector-wide workforce priorities.
- Contributing to advocacy and policy work that strengthens the Aboriginal workforce.

Senior Project Officer,



EducationThe Education portfolio focuses on improving educational outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people.

Key areas of responsibility include:

- Coordinating education-focused projects and initiatives.
- Supporting partnerships across the education and Aboriginal community-controlled sectors.
- Contributing to advocacy and policy initiatives that improve educational outcomes.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement, consultation and collaboration activities.
- Promoting Aboriginal-led approaches that strengthen participation, engagement and achievement in education.

- Key Selection Criteria The successful candidates will demonstrate:

- Experience in project coordination, project management or program delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, government and sector partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing papers, correspondence and presentations.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, consultations or engagement activities.
- Sound analytical,



problem-solving and project planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal self-determination and the Aboriginal community-controlled sector.

Desirable

Workforce Portfolio

- Experience in workforce development, training, capability building, human resources, recruitment or workforce planning initiatives.

Education Portfolio

- Experience in education policy, programs, advocacy or initiatives that support educational outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people.

Mandatory Requirements

- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee) or ability to obtain one.
- National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated experience in community development, education, public policy, social sciences, project management, human services or a related field.
