RX Active Health are seeking a highly capable Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary health team in Shellharbour.

We are opening a new purpose-built allied health building next door to our current location designed to support high-quality, professional care. The psychology rooms will be calm, inviting, private, and soundproof, creating a dedicated therapeutic space where clients feel safe, supported, and able to fully engage in the process.

This role is suited to a psychologist who has already built strong experience in private practice and is now looking for something more integrated, professional, and clinically meaningful.

You may have enjoyed your career to date, built strong results with your client base, and developed loyal clients in your current or previous workplaces. But you are now looking for a setting where psychology sits within a broader health model — not isolated from it.

RX Active Health is predominantly a physiotherapy clinic with six physiotherapists, with more allied health services to come. You will work with clients who have psychological needs within a medical and physical health setting, including people managing acute pain, persistent pain, injuries, trauma, chronic conditions, and barriers to exercise, confidence, consistency, and long-term health change.

This role is not isolated session-based psychology. Your work will directly support the cognitive, emotional, and behavioural components that influence recovery, self-management, exercise participation, and long-term outcomes.

As the first psychologist within RX Active Health, you will play a key role in shaping how psychology is integrated into our broader model of care.

What you will be doing

You will be responsible for:

- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments
- Developing tailored, evidence-based treatment plans
- Delivering psychological interventions such as CBT, ACT, pain education, behavioural strategies, and other evidence-based approaches within your scope
- Supporting clients with psychological barriers that impact pain, injury recovery, rehabilitation, exercise participation, stress, lifestyle change, and long-term health
- Working with clients experiencing acute pain, persistent pain, trauma, chronic health conditions, and nervous system dysregulation
- Collaborating with physiotherapists and exercise professionals to support shared client outcomes
- Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional and regulatory standards
- Contributing to the development of psychology services within RX Physiotherapy and Hustle Hut Health
- Helping build a model of care where psychology is practical, integrated, outcome-focused, and connected to real-world behaviour change

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is clinically strong, emotionally mature, and aligned with long-term client outcomes.

The ideal applicant will have:

- At least 5 years’ private practice experience in Australia as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist
- Previous experience achieving strong outcomes with a loyal client base
- Experience or genuine interest in working within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience or genuine interest in working with medical and allied health populations
- Confidence supporting clients with pain, injury, trauma, chronic conditions, anxiety, stress, and behaviour change
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical documentation standards
- A solid work ethic
- A growth-oriented mindset
- A commitment to ongoing CPD,



clinical supervision, mentoring, or peer supervision
- Interest in being part of a team-based clinic, especially if previous roles have felt professionally isolated

Remuneration

This role offers a base salary plus commission for employees, with a straight commission structure available for contractors.

The employee structure is designed to provide income stability while also rewarding productivity, client retention, clinical impact, and contribution to the growth of the psychology service.

Remuneration will be discussed based on experience, seniority, registration type, and clinical capability.
