Senior Quality Engineer – BigQuery & Python

CloudMarc is looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer with strong BigQuery, Python and data testing experience to join a major enterprise program in Melbourne.

This is a hands-on Quality Engineering role focused on validating complex data solutions, building automated testing capability and ensuring data quality across large-scale platforms.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

- Testing complex data pipelines, transformations and integrations.
- Performing data validation and reconciliation using BigQuery.
- Developing automated data testing solutions using Python.
- Writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation.
- Testing data across source, transformation and target layers.
- Validating data accuracy, completeness, integrity and quality.
- Building reusable automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Performing functional, integration, regression and end-to-end data testing.
- Identifying data quality issues and investigating root causes.
- Working closely with Data Engineers, Developers, BAs and delivery teams.
- Supporting automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

What We're Looking For





- Strong experience as a Senior Quality Engineer / Data Test Engineer / Senior Test Automation Engineer.
- Solid hands-on Google BigQuery experience – essential.
- Strong Python experience – essential.
- Advanced SQL and data validation skills.
- Strong experience testing complex data pipelines and transformations.
- Experience with ETL/ELT and data integration testing.
- Experience developing automated data testing solutions.
- Strong understanding of data quality and reconciliation.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms.
- CI/CD and Agile delivery experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
