Senior Software Engineer | Brisbane | Hybrid

Medbill is looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our growing health-tech engineering team.

This is an opportunity to help build and scale a modern healthcare SaaS platform, within a well established Services company, and to explore how AI can be genuinely applied within medical operations, not simply used as a developer productivity tool.

You’ll work on real-world opportunities to use AI to automate complex workflows, that partners alongside humans to assist operational decision-making, and fundamentally rethink processes that have traditionally relied on significant manual effort.

What you’ll do

- Design and deliver significant features end-to-end
- Build secure, scalable software using TypeScript and Node.js
- Help shape our AWS architecture and technical direction
- Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to real healthcare workflows




- Work directly with operational users to rapidly test and refine new approaches
- Mentor other engineers and help lift engineering capability
- Use modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI

What we’re looking for

- 6+ years’ commercial software engineering experience
- Strong TypeScript, Node.js and AWS experience
- Experience owning technical decisions and delivering complex software
- Genuine interest in applying AI to difficult, real-world problems
- Solid communication and mentoring skills

React, PostgreSQL, AWS CDK and healthcare experience are highly regarded.
