Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer with a strong appreciation and exposure to geotechnical engineering to join our team in Melbourne. This role is responsible for design, specification and services related to Civil and Structural Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Develop civil and structural designs for brownfields modification projects without supervision that comply with local laws and regulations, as well as industry and company codes, standards and practises
- Undertake the role of technical lead to a team of senior, junior and graduate engineers
- Develop project risk registers defining key risks to start-up of the overall project and its constituent projects
Qualifications
- 12 years minimum experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- At least 8 years shall have been in the civil and structural areas with exposure to and knowledge of the civil discipline
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, assess and develop structural and civil designs from field data, including from remote locations, that are relevant to the local construction and physical environment
- An engineering degree from an accredited, recognised State College or University
- Familiar with discipline relevant US and Australian Industry Design Codes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the client
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise
- Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to other engineers including remote teams working in different cultures
