Site Supervisor
Location: Australia-wide projects
Employment Type: Full-time
About McMahons
McMahons is a specialist sportsfield and civil construction contractor with extensive experience delivering premium sporting facilities throughout Australia. We maintain a modern fleet of company-owned machinery alongside a highly skilled in-house team, allowing us to self-perform the majority of project activities while maintaining exceptional quality, safety, and operational standards.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor who thrives on leading from the front. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of site governance, quality compliance, logistics, and subcontractor coordination, while remaining actively hands-on on the tools to support high-priority tasks and keep momentum moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Operations & Leadership: Oversee daily operations, manage schedules, step in on the tools when needed, and direct external subcontractors and site logistics to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Quality Assurance: Own the site Quality Management System (QMS)—managing ITP sign-offs, managing Hold Points, and coordinating geotech, sand/gravel, and survey testing.
- Safety Management: Act as the primary site safety leader by managing hazard registers, reviewing SWMS, conducting site inductions, and overseeing incident reporting.
- Technical & Plans: Interpret project plans,
resolve design discrepancies, set out key site control points for the Leading Hand, and coordinate As-Constructed survey data
- Reporting & Handovers: Track daily progress, record plant hours, maintain site diaries, report variations/delays to the PM, and handle client inspections and defect rectifications.
What We Are Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in sportsfield or civil construction, including direct site supervisory responsibility.
- Solid mix of practical trade skills and site management capabilities (QA, ITPs, subcontractor control).
- Advanced plan reading, site setout skills, and a solid understanding of civil and agronomic specifications.
- Valid White Card (General Construction Induction), First Aid certification, and a full Driver's Licence.
- You will be measured on delivering projects fully compliant with engineering designs and ITP requirements, driving a zero-harm site culture, keeping site logistics seamless, and maintaining accurate site documentation
