Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) covers an area in south eastern NSW of 44,534 square kilometres. Gundungurra, Ngarigo, Ngunnawal and Yuin peoples are the traditional owners of the land.

In 2019 the estimated population was 211,122 residents, and over the decade to 2031, the overall population is projected to increase to 211,617.

So much to explore in the Souther NSW region The majestic Snowy Mountains, the sparkling Sapphire Coast, the verdant Yass Valley, the Excellent Dividing Range and the Southern Tablelands – all highlight the unique area that is the Southern NSW region. You’ll find a thriving beef and dairy industry that began in the 1850s in Bega, the cheese capital of Australia. In Goulburn, the Big Merino is a symbol of the 200-year-old local wool industry.

Follow the oyster trail from Bermagui to Wonboyn; fish, surf and kayak in Bateman’s Bay; spot platypus in Bombala; see the remnants of early pioneer life in Delegate; marvel at the Snowy Hydro dams in Cooma and Khancoban; visit the Mogo Zoo; ski, mountain bike or hike in Kosciuszko National Park; and pan for gold or pick some cherries in Young. The area is home to more than 200,000 residents, including four large Aboriginal nations: Gundungurra, Ngunnawal, Ngarigo and Yuin. The population is expected to keep growing,

Where you'll be working - Moruya

Moruya, NSW, is a charming country town nestled on the banks of the picturesque Moruya River. Located on the South Coast of New South Wales, Moruya offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With its rich history, stunning natural landscapes, and a variety of activities, Moruya is a perfect destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.

Although being the smallest of the three major towns on the Eurobodalla Coast, Moruya is the administrative centre of the shire - home to the council offices and other public institutions, such as the Moruya College of TAFE. The historical selection of Moruya for these institutions arises partly from the fact that Moruya lies near the geographical centre of the Eurobodalla Shire, which runs from Batemans Bay in the north to Tilba in the south and also because Moruya is one of the older towns in the region.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide evidence based clinical care to patients within your scope of practice and regularly manage patients with more complex treatment needs at oral health facilities across the local health district.

Selection Criteria

- Dental qualification eligible for registration as a dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative/population health approach to patient care.




- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality and abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct in line with prescribed NSW Health policies and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and sensitively with a wide range of individuals.
- Proficiency in the use of computer systems including electronic patient records and digital imaging.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters.
- Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the Health Service. Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
