Head Chef – Full-Time

Freddie's Ascot is a thriving neighbourhood café that has proudly served the Ascot and surrounding community since 2021. We are committed to delivering high-quality food, excellent customer service, and a welcoming dining experience. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
2. Plan, develop, and update café menus and seasonal specials.
3. Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food to a consistent standard.
4. Manage food ordering, stock control, inventory, and supplier relationships.
5. Monitor food costs, portion control, and minimise waste.
6. Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff.
7. Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
8. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
9.



Work collaboratively with management to improve menu offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

1. A qualification in a relevant field (Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, or equivalent) is compulsory.
2. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Head Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen leadership role is compulsory.
3. Solid leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
5. Sound knowledge of food safety standards and commercial kitchen operations.
