About the role
This is a 3-month internship designed to complement your university studies while providing practical, hands-on experience across engineering, project delivery, procurement and construction within the telecommunications infrastructure industry. You will gain experience across both office and field environments, working alongside engineers and project teams and developing practical skills that will support your transition into a professional engineering career.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with engineering design and drafting
- Create and modify 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks
- Assist with CAD drafting and engineering drawings
- Support structural and mechanical engineering assessments and design work
- Assist with materials procurement, supplier enquiries and material take-offs
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Assist Project Engineers with project planning, coordination and delivery
- Review engineering drawings, specifications and documentation
- Assist with site surveys, inspections and field-based engineering activities
- Support the preparation of project documentation, reports and quotations
About you
- Currently studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- An interest in structural design, mechanical systems, construction or telecommunications infrastructure
- Experience or familiarity with SolidWorks and/or other 3D CAD software
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A willingness to learn and get involved in both office and field-based work
- An interest in developing a career in engineering and project delivery
