The Juniors is a thriving, family-friendly group of clubs located in Kingsford, Maroubra and Malabar, with a growing membership and a dedicated focus on junior sport and community. South Sydney Junior Rugby League Club, known as The Juniors, is also recognised as one of Sydney’s premier venues for food and entertainment in the Eastern Suburbs, offering a variety of dining options, world-class entertainment and a full program of free weekly entertainment.

We are seeking a motivated, reliable and experienced Chef to join our Catering team on a casual basis. Working closely with the Executive Chef and Senior Chefs, you will assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of quality meals while helping maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service.

About The Role

This hands-on role supports daily kitchen operations across food preparation, cooking, stock rotation and cleaning. You will contribute to smooth service by ensuring meals are prepared on time, presented consistently and produced in line with venue standards and food safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present meals to The Juniors’ venue standards.

- Complete food preparation and mise en place for service.

- Ensure meals are produced on time and sufficient quantities are available.

- Support the day-to-day control of food service, ensuring quality and presentation are exemplary.

- Ensure all menu items are prepared as per specifications.





- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.

- Monitor stock control, stock rotation and kitchen wastage.

- Report maintenance or operational issues to the Executive Chef.

- Work cooperatively with chefs, catering staff and other departments during busy periods.

About You

- Completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, relevant trade qualifications, or extensive experience in a similar role.

- Sound knowledge of food hygiene, food safety and relevant kitchen standards.

- Good time management and the ability to work efficiently during service.

- Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude.

- A strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.

- Flexible, reliable, punctual and willing to assist across the kitchen as required.

- Available to work across a flexible weekly roster, including weekends.
