As we continue to invest in our stores, our people, and the experience we deliver to Australian families, we're looking for an exceptional Assistant Store Manager to help lead Penrith, our #1 store and one of the most complex, high-volume locations in the business.

This isn't a typical Assistant Store Manager opportunity. Penrith requires a confident and commercially minded leader who thrives on ownership, can make decisions with pace, and knows how to pull the right levers to drive sales, productivity, team performance, and customer experience every day.

What You'll Be Doing

- Take ownership of the day-to-day running of one of Best & Less' largest and highest-volume stores.

- Drive sales, productivity, wage performance, and operational outcomes through strong commercial decision-making.

- Lead a large and diverse team, building capability, accountability, and engagement across the store.

- Analyse performance trends and confidently identify opportunities to improve sales, customer experience, and profitability.

- Oversee stock flow, merchandising execution, and operational standards to ensure the store consistently performs at its best.

- Lead trading floor execution during peak periods, ensuring the team delivers exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

- Create a culture of high performance, ownership, and accountability where team members can thrive and grow.





- Partner closely with the Store Manager to execute strategic priorities while taking responsibility for key business outcomes.

About You

- Proven leadership experience in a large-format or high-volume retail environment.

- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success managing sales, wages, productivity, and operational performance.

- Confident making decisions, solving problems, and adapting quickly in a fast-paced trading environment.

- An experienced people leader who can coach, develop, and hold teams accountable for delivering results.

- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive execution.

- Resilient, energetic, and motivated by achieving ambitious targets.

- Ready to step into a role with genuine scale, complexity, and ownership.
