An exciting chance exists for an experienced and motivated online communications and engagement specialist to join a dynamic team. This role is responsible for developing and delivering strategic communications, managing digital engagement activities, and promoting key initiatives and priorities. The position supports effective stakeholder and community engagement, helping to inform, connect and engage audiences through clear, timely and impactful communication.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and implement effective social media strategies to strengthen online engagement, increase audience reach, and enhance digital presence.

2. Develop and deliver engaging digital content across a range of platforms to communicate key messages, initiatives, and priorities.

3. Monitor, maintain, and grow social media channels, ensuring content remains relevant, timely, and audience focused.

4. Develop and maintain stakeholder databases and support stakeholder engagement activities.

5. Coordinate the delivery of newsletters, direct mail, and other communication products to stakeholders and the broader community.

6. Assist in the planning and delivery of community engagement activities, events, and outreach initiatives.

7. Monitor digital trends, audience insights, and analytics to inform communication strategies and improve engagement outcomes.

8. Collaborate with team members to ensure communications are consistent, accurate, and aligned with organisational objectives.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

1.



Very high-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and geographic regions.

2. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic online communication and engagement plans across a range of digital platforms.

3. High-level organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities across multiple projects.

4. Experience and high-level competency in digital technologies, social media management, content creation, and analytics.

5. Proven experience in graphic design and the development of professional communication materials.

6. Skills and experience in video recording, editing, and publishing content for a variety of digital and social media platforms.

7. Proven ability to work in a sensitive, fast-paced, and high-profile environment, exercising sound judgement, discretion, and professionalism.

8. Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to integrity, accountability, transparency, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Desirable:

1. Formal qualifications in a relevant field or demonstrated experience.

2. Experience in Government and/or Parliamentary processes.
