Business Support Officer – Corporate & Governance
Location: Tamworth, NSW
THE OPPORTUNITY
Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Business Support Officer, Administration & Governance to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Governance and Executive Services team.
In this diverse and rewarding role, you will:
- Provide high-quality administrative support across the Directorate.
- Coordinate customer requests, enquiries and bookings while maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare, format and proofread correspondence, reports and other business documents.
- Support financial administration processes including purchase orders, invoice processing and reconciliations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administration professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced workplace and contributing to positive outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience delivering high-quality administrative services, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
The Business Support Officer, Corporate & Governance is responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Corporate & Governance team.
- Preparing and formatting correspondence, reports and business documentation.
- Managing customer enquiries, requests and complaints in a skilled and timely manner.
- Supporting Council meetings through the provision of administrative assistance.
- Undertaking financial administration activities including purchase orders, invoices and reconciliations.
- Maintaining Council records and software systems.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and effective business processes.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Certificate III in Business Administration or a related qualification.
- Demonstrated experience (typically 3-5 years) in an administrative support role.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience designing and developing complex business documents.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to identify, analyse and resolve problems effectively.
- NSW Driver Licence.

Salary Range: Grade 8 - $1,237.70 - $1,339.30 per week, plus 12% superannuation for a 35-hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
