This is a Senior Heavy Diesel Mechanic role for someone who genuinely knows their trade — a mechanic who is confident taking on complex repairs, difficult diagnostic work and breakdowns, while also being capable of providing guidance and leadership to other technicians. You will play an important role in maintaining the high standard of workmanship and customer service that ATTR has built its reputation on. The successful candidate will be hands-on, professional and take pride in doing the job properly. You will have strong communication and customer service skills, be comfortable dealing with customers and suppliers when required, and have the ability to assess problems and find practical solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of heavy vehicles and trailers
- Carry out complex mechanical and electrical fault finding
- Attend and assist with breakdowns when required
- Undertake major repairs and challenging diagnostic work
- Carry out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Assist and provide technical guidance to other technicians
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and safety
- Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers
- Help maintain an organised, clean and professional workshop
- Take a senior role within the workshop and lead by example
About you
- Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as a qualified heavy diesel mechanic
- Current HR driver's licence
- Own tools
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Strong electrical diagnostic ability
- Proven ability to confidently tackle difficult and complex repairs
- Ability to lead, mentor and assist other technicians
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A professional attitude and pride in workmanship
