Salary/Level: Level 8, $163,427 - $176,990 p.a. plus Superannuation

DBCA’s South West Region includes the major population centres of Greater Bunbury and Busselton and the towns of Harvey, Collie, Capel, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, Augusta, Nannup, Donnybrook, Boyup Brook plus part of Bridgetown.

The South West Region headquarters is based at Bunbury. The region includes Wellington District and Blackwood District. Staff operate out of regional and district offices at Bunbury, Collie and Busselton, as well as work centres at Busselton, Margaret River, Harvey, Nannup and Kirup.

The regions spans 15 local government areas and parts of the Gnaala Karla Booja and South West Boojarah Indigenous Land Use Agreement Areas.

The reserve system managed by DBCA covers about 49 percent of the region’s lands and waters. Key attractions include Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, Wellington National Park and Collie River Valley reserves, Ngari Capes Marine Park, caves, and an extensive network of bike and walk trails including the Cape to Cape Track and sections of the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail and the Kalgulup Regional Park.

The South West Region’s key service deliverables include land, marine and fire management, biodiversity conservation, nature-based tourism, visitor risk management and visitor services and partnerships with Traditional Owners.

We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Manager - South West to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Director Regional and Fire Management Services,



this position provides regional management and leadership to a diverse team managing the conservation of wildlife, lands, waters and resources and the engagement of Traditional Owners to achieve departmental and government outcomes.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria

1. Evidence of empowering leadership experience in a large multidisciplinary team and substantial competence in long term planning and financial and risk management.
2. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and management with Traditional Owners and with other leaders working for and in regional communities.
3. Extensive experience in the field of natural land and resource management including conservation, fire management, emergency management, visitor risk and parks and visitor services.
