FOH / BAR TEAM MEMBER — SPIRIT HOUSE RESTAURANT & HONGSA BAR, YANDINA

We’re looking for an experienced hospitality human to join our FOH and bar team.

The role will start casual, with the opportunity to move into a part-time or full-time contract for the right person.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is about much more than simply standing behind a bar looking knowledgeable while polishing a glass.

We’re looking for someone who understands the moving parts of a busy restaurant and can help keep Hongsa Bar and our FOH operations humming along . . . bartending, bar prep, stock control, organisation and all those little jobs that nobody notices when they’re done properly and absolutely everybody notices when they’re not.

And before we get into the serious stuff, there are two important things you should know:

NO SPLIT SHIFTS.

Yes. You read that correctly.

You will not work lunch, be released into the wilderness for three mysterious hours with nowhere useful to go, and then be summoned back for dinner.

FREE ON-SITE PARKING.

No circling the block. No feeding a parking meter half your wage. No beginning your shift with an unexpected 900-metre power walk.

You arrive. You park. You work.

Civilisation has prevailed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Strong bar and high-volume hospitality experience

- Confident bartending skills and a genuine interest in all things bar

- Experience with bar prep, stock control and organisation

- Someone polished, professional and comfortable in a high-end restaurant workplace

- Reliable and consistent, with good availability across weekdays and weekends

- Someone who can remain calm when the printer is producing tickets like it has developed a personal grievance

- Wine knowledge is preferred, but not essential

- A great personality and positive attitude





- Someone who understands that “team player” means more than appearing in the staff photo

- Someone who takes pride in doing things properly without needing to be chased around with a clipboard

Experience is important, but character matters just as much.
