About the Role
We are seeking an organised and dependable Volunteer Support Officer to join our Member Services team at Head Office.
Reporting to the Head of Member Services, you will provide administrative and event support for initiatives that strengthen the capacity of our adult membership, support delivery of the Scouting Program and contribute to the growth of the organisation.
This is a varied support role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, maintaining accurate records and helping activities and events run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist with the administration of Adult Recognition Awards, Long Service Awards and Peak Awards.
- Help coordinate the Annual Awards Ceremony, including materials, communications and event preparation.
- Provide administrative support to the Adult Recognition Committee.
- Maintain accurate award records and tracking systems.
- Prepare certificates and standard communications for recognition programs.
- Assist with membership processes and incident-reporting administration.
- Support compliance, quality assurance and general Member Services activities.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for Scouts SA events.
- Assist with event setup,
coordination of materials and other practical event activities.
- Follow Scouts SA policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
About you
You are organised, accurate and comfortable working within established processes. You communicate clearly, manage routine administrative tasks reliably and know when to seek guidance.
You will also be comfortable working collaboratively with both staff and volunteers in a busy, community-focused environment.
The successful applicant will require:
- A current C class driver's licence.
- A suitable National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
- Knowledge of Scouting or a willingness to undertake Scout-specific training.
- Availability for occasional regional or interstate travel.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Confidence working with data, records and tracking systems.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and organise tasks effectively.
- Ability to follow directions, policies and established procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff and volunteers.
- A collaborative, service-focused approach.
- Sound judgement and the ability to seek guidance when needed.
- Experience in a volunteer environment is desirable.
- Qualified experience within a membership-based organisation is desirable.
