About the Role
As a Casual Mental Health Clinician, you will play a key role in providing specialist mental health assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, consultation and liaison services across a diverse range of clinical settings. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support individuals with complex mental health needs using evidence-based and recovery-oriented approaches that promote wellbeing, independence and positive health outcomes.
This varied and rewarding role will see you working collaboratively with consumers, carers, families, healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to deliver high-quality mental health care. You will draw on your clinical expertise to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans and contribute to effective treatment and support pathways. As a casual employee, you'll enjoy flexibility while making a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive service.
About You
You are a passionate and adaptable mental health professional who is committed to delivering person-centred, recovery-oriented care. Whether your background is in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, counselling or another relevant mental health discipline, you bring the clinical skills, professionalism and compassion needed to support people experiencing complex mental health challenges.
You have demonstrated experience providing specialist mental health assessments, crisis intervention and care management services, and are confident working in fast-paced environments where sound clinical judgement is essential.
Your cooperative approach enables you to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with consumers, carers, colleagues and key stakeholders.
Highly organised and adaptable, you possess excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities. You are confident using computer-based systems, including NSW Health applications, and understand the importance of accurate clinical documentation. A current driver's licence and willingness to travel for work purposes are essential, as is your commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care that supports positive outcomes for consumers and their families.
What you'll be doing
Provide triage, assessment, intervention and response to meet the Mental Health needs of person in the community, the community sector and primary care partners when they encounter mental health problems.
To work collaboratively with other service providers/agencies to promote assertive and timely service delivery for clients in the provision of holistic evidence based care in accordance to MNCLHD and Ministry of Health policies and directive.
