This is an exciting opportunity to join the South West Region’s inhouse Construction/Direct Managed Delivery team, based in Bunbury.

About You:

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising an onsite Road Construction Crew to deliver the Regions Delivery Program in accordance with the technical specifications, worksite safety requirements, and program timelines. A key component of this role as a road crew leader is accurate record keeping, compliance, and an ability to resolve onsite technical and crew issues, matters, risks, and opportunities.

Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll work on the network to inspect, repair and construct both new and existing assets to provide your community with a safe and efficient road network.

We’re looking for people with experience in:

- Road Construction – materials selection, pavement construction, bituminous surfacing and asphalt processes and techniques.

- Worksite Supervision, including the supervision of employee’s behaviour, performance, and development.

- Interpretation of technical documentation, standards, specifications, and drawings, including from electronic devices.

- Interpreting and ensuring environmental, quality, and WHS Act obligations and Duty of Care requirements are complied with.

- Traffic Management, including the implementation of traffic management plans at worksites.

- Demonstrated understanding of the safe operation, capabilities, limitations, and risks associated with construction plant and equipment (e.g. tippers, skid steers, rollers, excavators, loaders, water trucks).



Ability to identify and manage hazards associated with mobile plant, maintain safe work zones, and ensure compliance with WHS requirements and duty of care obligations.

Salary package and overtime:

- Base hourly rate of $51.77 - $54.46 ($108,030 - $113,646 per annum) + 12% superannuation on top

- Construction Road Crew Supervisors are rostered to work Monday to Friday. The roster depends on the time of year and the type of Construction project.

- In addition to your 80 hours per fortnight, most rosters for Construction Projects for the next 12 months will include between 15 – 30 hours overtime per fortnight.

- The first two hours of Overtime is paid at time and a half, and double time after that.

- Based on this amount of overtime, the Road Crew Supervisors gross income is expected to exceed $140,000 per annum.

The salary provided is based on a Monday to Friday roster, with anticipated overtime included. Please note that, as overtime hours and rosters may vary, salary therefore is subject to fluctuation and may change accordingly depending on actual hours worked and operational needs. The exact salary and any applicable allowances will be confirmed with the successful applicant prior to commencement of employment.

- A minimum of 4 weeks annual leave, 10 public holidays, 3 additional public service holidays and 13 weeks long service leave after 7 years continuous service

- Annual Leave Loading of 17.5% paid in December each year.
