About the role

As the General Manager – Regulatory, you will lead Southern Launch's environmental, licensing, and regulatory approval activities to enable the acquisition, development, and operation of new land, infrastructure, and business capabilities. The role provides strategic leadership to secure approvals, manage compliance, and support sustainable business growth. Responsibilities include:

- Lead regulatory governance across Southern Launch’s land, sites, built environment and fixed infrastructure.

- Lead and oversee planning, development, environmental and land-use approval pathways.

- Oversee environmental, cultural heritage and land management obligations across Southern Launch’s operating environments.

- Identify and manage regulatory requirements, risks, constraints and dependencies impacting infrastructure, development and future capability.

- Maintain oversight of regulatory approvals, licences,



permits, compliance obligations and mandatory reporting.

- Provide strategic advice on regulatory pathways, development opportunities and emerging requirements affecting Southern Launch’s sites and infrastructure.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, government agencies, Traditional Owners, landholders and other key stakeholders.

- Lead, develop and build capability across the Environmental, Cultural Heritage and Regulatory function.

About you

- Relevant tertiary qualification.

- Senior regulatory, environmental, planning or approvals experience.

- Solid knowledge of planning, environmental and land-use frameworks.

- Experience managing development approvals, licensing and regulatory requirements.

- Strong stakeholder and regulator engagement skills.

- Proven leadership, risk management and communication capability.

This position requires you to hold and maintain a valid Australian Defence Security Clearance.
