The Lorian Group have partnered with a long-standing Tier 2 commercial builder with an established presence across Queensland and a strong reputation in the local market.

The business delivers a range of commercial construction projects ranging through to $100m in value. With several projects underway and more coming through the pipeline, they are looking to add an experienced Design Manager to the team.

Your New Role
As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process across major commercial projects, working closely with the Pre-Construction, Project and Site teams from early design through to delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing the design process from pre-construction through delivery
- Coordinating architects, engineers and external consultants
- Reviewing documentation for buildability, compliance and coordination
- Managing design programmes, deliverables and key milestones
- Identifying and resolving design issues before they impact construction
- Working closely with estimating, project and site teams
- Managing RFIs, design changes and consultant information
- Liaising with clients and key project stakeholders
- Driving value engineering and practical design outcomes

What You'll Need to Succeed:





- Previous Design Management experience within commercial or industrial construction
- Experience with a Tier 2 or established commercial builder
- Exposure to larger commercial projects, ideally $30m+
- Strong understanding of construction methodology and buildability
- Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple design packages and competing deadlines

A background in architecture, engineering or construction will be considered, provided you have strong experience managing design within the commercial construction space.
