About the role
An experienced and business-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant's Assistant is sought to join a health care business based in Dalby in a permanent part time capacity. This is a senior position reporting directly to the accountant, with a view to becoming responsible for overseeing all administration requirements for the business.
Key responsibilities
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable management
- Assist Payroll processing and Single Touch Payroll compliance
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS
- Account coding and reconciliation
- Management of debtor and creditor accounts
- Preparation of management reports
- Maintaining and improving client bookkeeping systems
- Supporting accountants with month-end and year-end procedures
- Ensure compliance with legislation, funding agreements, reporting standards and taxation obligations (including BAS, SGC and FBT)
- Maintain a daily work diary
About you
- Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping experience
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft
- Experience with Hubdoc, Dext or similar bookkeeping software highly regarded
- Payroll processing experience
- Prior experience working with multiple inter-company entities
- Sound understanding of GST, BAS and bookkeeping principles
- Sound knowledge of ATO standards relating to reportable income and deductible expenses
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Experience in the community services or disability sector, as well as knowledge of Aged Care, NDIS, and government funding reporting requirements, would be an advantage
