About the role

This is a significant commercial finance leadership opportunity within a large and complex ASX listed organisation. The role will take responsibility for commercial finance across a major operating division, partnering closely with senior executives to drive business performance, strategic planning and commercial decision making.

Leading through an established team of senior finance leaders and business partners, the position is focused on setting direction, building capability and providing high-level commercial insight. This is a role for an experienced finance leader who is comfortable operating above the detail, empowering their team and influencing at an executive level.

Responsibilities

- Lead the commercial finance function across a large and complex operating division
- Provide leadership and direction across a sizeable, multi-layered finance team
- Partner with executive and operational leaders on strategy, performance and commercial decision making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and longer-term strategic planning processes
- Provide clear insights into business performance, key drivers, risks and opportunities
- Present financial performance and commercial recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Drive a disciplined operating rhythm across forecasting, reporting and performance management
- Lead, develop and empower senior finance leaders and their teams
- Influence effectively across a complex matrix organisational structure
- Support major business improvement, systems and transformation initiatives




- Continue to improve the quality of commercial insights and decision support across the division

Skills and Experience

- CA or CPA qualified with significant senior commercial finance leadership experience
- Experience operating within a large, sophisticated and complex corporate environment
- Demonstrated success leading large teams through multiple layers of finance leadership
- Strong commercial finance, strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting capability
- Proven ability to operate credibly with executives and senior operational stakeholders
- Strong understanding of governance, financial controls and operating disciplines
- Experience navigating complex matrix structures and diverse stakeholder groups
- Contemporary and empowering people leadership style
- Solid track record of developing capable, high-performing finance teams
- Experience within a large operational environment will be highly regarded
- Ability to remain strategically focused while ensuring strong execution through the broader team
